For the Children
It’s been a while since I blogged. Maybe you noticed. I took a little bloggy break. Busy summer. Son’s wedding. Creating a Foundation. Building a Monument. Never enough time. On top of that, I always wonder Does anybody read this? If you’re reading this, make my day and leave a comment. It’s just nice to know you’re out there.
I hope you’ve heard about the progress of our monument A Healing Place. The monument has found a beautiful home in South Salt Lake in Fitts Park. I can’t imagine a lovelier spot for healing. I can’t wait to see the finished gardens and statues. I hope to see you there. All whose lives have been touched by abuse will find this a place to gather strength and move on. For the rest of us it will serve as reminder of the beauty of innocence and of our duty to protect and nurture children.
To celebrate and to kick off our fundraising, we are having a benefit concert in Fitts Park on August 21. Tickets are just $10 per person or $25.00 per family and include some food and fun activities from 5:00 until 7:00. The concert opens at 7:00 with Sons of Other Mothers and concludes with the fabulous Crash Pontiac and the Hubcaps from 8:00-until 10:00. That’s a lot of bang for you buck and those bucks stop at A Healing Place. All proceeds from the evening will go towards the cement for the monument.
Stop by www.ahealingplacemonument.org and buy your ticket today. Please tell all your friends. Let’s fill the park and make a difference…for the children.
